Latest news from Kenya (January 2023)

This is the latest update from the chairman (James) of the Kenyan Trustees in conversation with Ken, our own trustee of Happy Home Kenya Trust.

All is well with everyone associated with Happy Home. The staff have been given time off until 20th January when all of the children who are living with their guardian families return prior to going back to their respective schools on 23rd January,

The trustees are having an early morning meeting that same morning before staff, children and guardian families descend on Happy Home for a belated Christmas and New Year party. At the celebration the children will all receive gifts bought with money that was sent by St Clement's church in Derbyshire. They will also each be presented with certificates to acknowledge that the school fees have been paid for the new term, by donations for supporters of HHKT.

They have also just harvested a small harvest of beans following the short rains which James said should last over the next couple of months.

The development of the school on site continues, with a foundation in place for a permanent classroom, although funds will only allow a temporary classroom to be built on it at the moment.

For prayer:-

Please pray for safe journeys for all of the children to Happy Home and to their schools.

Please pray for the guardian families as they travel to and from Happy Home.

Give thanks to God for the kindness of all who make donations to Happy Home.

Finally, James asks that God will lead them through this New Year and help them to make good plans for the work of Happy Home.
